She’s the founder of Urban Paths, hosting Walkshops, Walking Book Club, weekly group and one-on-one explorations on city paths. With her guidance, walkers acknowledge their challenges, embrace their strengths, and are fully supported on their healthier journeys – all through connecting conversation and self-paced walks. Her office is the outdoors and her mission is to find healing and inspiration no matter where the path leads.
Laura found the power of walking as a little girl in Rockford, Illinois, mesmerized by a classmate named Jolene, who commanded the preschool classroom while wearing a pair of patent-leather knee-high heels and dancing to These Boots Are Made for Walking. The song became Laura’s lifelong anthem, and continues to energize that sassy three-year old child within while walking off life stressors, family transitions, parenting and career shifts. Laura’s signature red boots are now made for city hiking, but she’s carried the energy and confidence Jolene first shared with her throughout her journey while connecting compassionately with the many people she meets along the way.
