AARP Wellness Walk Through Houston Hispanic Art Scene

Join us in celebrating the vibrant Hispanic culture with a series of walks through Houston's historic neighborhoods. Each walk features a special guest speaker who will illuminate the contributions of Hispanic artists to the community's rich tapestry. Led by Laura Conely of Urban Paths, these Wellness Walks are designed for everyone, regardless of pace, to enjoy a 1-hour journey of art, conversation, and well-being. Embrace the health benefits of walking as you connect with self, others, and the natural world around you. Don't miss this opportunity to engage with culture and community—step into wellness with us.

All paces are welcome to join the walk held in English and Spanish.

Conely has been researching the health benefits of walking for over ten years. She is a certified teacher, ESL Instructor, Nutrition Coach, and Arthritis Foundation- Walk With-Ease Coach. She also has extensive training in activities for stress relief from The Center for Mind-Body Medicine.

This program aims to:

• Promote disease prevention and management to maintain and achieve a healthy weight, boost immune systems, boost heart health, prevent diabetes, and manage existing conditions.

• Create feelings of ease How "awe" releases serotonin and feel-good hormones in our brains.

• Help manage depression and anxiety.
